Patricia Massey Hoke | Founder & Principal Advisor
Patricia Massey Hoke is a dynamic, collaborative leader whose background spans nonprofit executive leadership, fundraising and institutional advancement, and strategy consulting. As the founder and principal at Thunder Hill Advisors, she works with social change leaders who want a trusted partner to help them navigate complexity, strengthen their leadership, and clarify their purpose. She is especially interested in the intersection of the strategic and human elements of leadership and has a passion for nurturing the inner spirit of change leaders. She is guided by values of authenticity and courage.
Patricia was the first Executive Director of Women’s Impact Fund, a giving circle in Charlotte, NC that strengthens women’s leadership in philanthropy. Patricia provided visionary leadership to the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts including reimagining membership and grantmaking processes to make them more accessible, transparent, and equitable. She also steered Women’s Impact Fund through the challenges of the COVID pandemic by offering creative virtual and hybrid education and engagement programs, and increasing annual giving to the organization.
Prior to joining Women’s Impact Fund in 2019, Patricia was the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Davidson College. Previously, she worked as a Manager with Deloitte Consulting supporting business model transformation efforts. Ahead of pursuing her MBA, Patricia served in nonprofit and local government settings in Washington, DC.
Patricia has significant nonprofit board leadership experience including with Digi-Bridge, Charlotte Choir School, Women + Girls Research Alliance at UNC-Charlotte, and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church where she currently serves on the endowment board and co-chairs the capital campaign. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Davidson College and an MBA from The College of William & Mary. Patricia and her husband, John, have three young boys.
